Artist Statement 2024

My creative and personal lives have included many adventures. Walking short and long distances is a part of my creative process. The results of these walks are an abundance of experiences as well as a loosening of the imagination and spirit that are then expressed in my art and my writing. Just like many places have captured my interest so have many media. It is my way to create in bodies of work. It’s not been uncommon for me to work in one medium for a decade and move on to another after that. It doesn’t mean I won’t return to an earlier art form if so moved. For the last decade or so I have created primarily as a book artist. My walks and time spent in nature are reflected in many of my books whether it be in content or cover design. I am currently making books, writing books, taking many photos to be used in my books, and traveling much.
